Treatment Options for CD

ENTYVIO is for adults with moderate to severe Crohn's disease when certain other medications haven't worked well enough or can't be tolerated.

Overview of Treatment Options for Crohn's Disease

Conventional Treatment Options

Corticosteroids

A class of drugs that work quickly to lower the activity of the immune system, thereby decreasing the inflammatory response. They are not typically used long term and should not be stopped abruptly.

Immunomodulators

A class of drugs that modify the immune system's ability to cause inflammation. They are typically used when corticosteroids don't relieve symptoms.

Advanced therapies are used after conventional therapies

Types of Biologics:

  • Anti-Integrins Anti-α4β7 integrins, such as ENTYVIO, block gut-directed white blood cells involved in the inflammatory response from moving out of the blood vessels and into the gut tissue by blocking a protein on the surface of these cells.
  • Anti-Interleukins Block interleukin proteins, which are associated with the inflammation process.
  • Anti-TNFα Bind and block a protein called tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα), which promotes inflammation in the intestine.
