Tips for treatment and travel support

Staying on track with treatment

Staying on track isn’t always easy. This page has useful resources to help you stay consistent with your ENTYVIO treatment. Keep reading for more information about the EntyvioConnect support program, details about the ENTYVIO Pen, tips to make traveling easier, and more.

EntyvioConnect Support

EntyvioConnect is a patient support program created to help you at every step of your ENTYVIO journey—including keeping you on track with your infusion schedule. If you haven’t already, sign up for EntyvioConnect to receive resources and access to support from a Nurse Educator, who can discuss your treatment milestones with you. They cannot, however, provide medical advice.

Already on IV but interested in the ENTYVIO Pen?

If you’ve been receiving ENTYVIO through IV infusions but think the self-injection pen might be a better option for you, discuss with your healthcare provider if a transition is possible.

What are the differences?

Option 1:

IV Infusion

  • Administered in an office, at home, or infusion center
  • A healthcare provider monitors your treatment
  • Takes about 30 minutes
  • Given every 8 weeks

Option 2:

Self-administered injection

  • Offers flexibility in your treatment at home or on the go
  • Delivered to your home by a specialty pharmacy
  • Can be administered in several different areas on the body
  • Taken every 2 weeks

If you transition to the ENTYVIO Pen, there are plenty of resources available to help you feel more confident with self-‍administration. When you switch, your healthcare provider will teach you the proper steps for self-administration. You can also connect with a Nurse Educator to receive a self-injection training kit when you sign up for EntyvioConnect—which offers ongoing support throughout your treatment.

Talk to other patients through ENTYVIO Connections

Feeling alone or overwhelmed? Patient Ambassadors with the ENTYVIO Connections Program know what it's like to live with moderate to severe UC or Crohn's and can share their experiences with you.

Traveling with ENTYVIO

Traveling with ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease requires some extra planning. If you plan on being away from home at the time of your next dose, use the steps below to prepare accordingly.

Traveling within the United States if you’re receiving infusions

  1. Please notify your healthcare provider of your travel as soon as possible.
  2. Find an infusion center when you are traveling.
    • Ask your doctor for a referral to an infusion center.
    • Call EntyvioConnect at 1-844-ENTYVIO (1-844-368-9846)  and we'll help you find an infusion center.
    • Search for an infusion center.
  3. It is recommended to have your healthcare provider give you a written plan of action in case of an emergency.

Traveling outside the United States if you’re receiving infusions

  1. Please notify your healthcare provider of your travel as soon as possible.
  2. If you have US-based health insurance, contact EntyvioConnect at 1-844-ENTYVIO (1-844-368-9846) and ask if ENTYVIO is approved for use in your destination country. EntyvioConnect will call your insurance provider to determine your coverage and restrictions while abroad.
  3. Work with your healthcare provider and insurance company to identify an infusion center. EntyvioConnect will not be able to locate an infusion center outside the United States.
  4. It is recommended to have your healthcare provider give you a written plan of action in case of an emergency.
